ON THE VINEYARDS NOTHING IS LEFT TO CHANCE: FROM WINTER PRUNING TO THE HARVEST, EVERYTHING IS DONE WITH THE AIM OF CREATING THE BEST CONDITIONS FOR THE PLANT TO PRODUCE GRAPES OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. FOR THIS PURPOSE, WE EMPLOY THE BEST METHODS ENSURING THE LOWEST POSSIBLE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT.

Riva Granda is located half way between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, on the hills surrounding Col San Martino. Our grapes come from 7.5 hectares of land where the only cultivation is the grapevine, almost entirely formed by a family-owned single plot that has always been known by the name RIVA GRANDA. The Spadetto family has been living here and cultivating these mild slopes for generations, since 1700. Our work bases on the awareness that the success of the VALDOBBIADENE DOCG derives from the fusion of past, present and future. In this specific geographical context, these three elements intertwine, resulting in a unique product that reflects, with all its nuances, the territory where it is made.

OUR WINES ARE PRODUCED EXCLUSIVELY ON THE SURROUNDING HILLS AND THEY ARE THE RESULT OF A MOSTLY MANUAL FARMING. WE ONLY USE GRAPES FROM OUR OWN PRODUCTION.
A CONSTANT BALANCE BETWEEN INNOVATION AND TRADITION.

he company was developed by Girolamo (Momi) Spadetto and Anna Maria, who dedicated their life to the cultivation of the Glera variety on the hills around Col san Martino. With their work they further developed what had been started by Momi’s father, Antonio, who was managing the company before them and begun to modernize it.

Today it is their daughter who carries on the activity, following the know-how learnt from her parents and with their same passion for these wines and the territory. Silvia takes care of management and sales as well as the work in the winery while her husband, Giuseppe, carries out the heroic work on the vineyard. The excellence of a product is the result of many little steps, each of them planned and carried out in a precise and peculiar way. Our work in the winery is performed with the aim of carrying out every phase of wine making, from the grape pressing to the wine resting on its lees, in a natural way.

With this in mind, our first goal is the care of the vineyards on the hills, and also when we innovate we try to follow tradition. In the new plantings, together with the GLERA (prosecco) variety, we also maintain the types PERERA, BIANCHETTA and VERDISO, in different percentage depending on the location, a procedure that has always been followed in this area.

TASTING IN ‘CASERA – 1h 30min – € 30pp
A captivating tasting experience of our wines paired with our own cured meats and local cheeses.
The experience begins from the panoramic terrace overlooking our vineyards, from where exclusive photos can be taken. From that point, it is possible to get to know the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Territory and the UNESCO site better and to understand the different methods for manual working in the vineyard and vinification.
Afterwards, the tasting will continue inside the old ‘Casera’ (farmhouse), recently renovated and turned into a tasting room.

Tasting in an old ‘Casera’ (farmhouse) amidst our property’s vineyards, explanation of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Territory, of the UNESCO site and of vinification methods.

SENSORY JOURNEY IN CONEGLIANO VALDOBBIADENE – 2h – € 40pp

A fun and engaging sensory experience discovering the tastes and aromas of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene.
It is followed by a guided tasting of our wines paired with local cured meats and cheeses, together with a description of the territory and vinification methods.
We recommend reaching the location of the tasting on foot from our winery (15-minute walk).
In this case the total duration will be 2.5 hours.

MOMI – Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore docg Brut Nature
The product of tradition. It is obtained by natural second fermentation in the bottle during the spring following the harvest. This wine represents the union of present and future in the way of drinking Prosecco.

0.00 – Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore docg Extra Brut
It is the most contemporary version among our Valdobbiadene DOCG wines. In the Rive category, with a residual sugar content of 1 g/l, it has a strong and distinctive character that reflects the power of the Riva Granda vineyard. With great aromatic intensity, it is particularly well-suited to raw fish dishes and both seafood and land-based first courses.

210 – Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore docg Brut
It represents the modern way of drinking Prosecco. With a 7 g/l residual sugar, this wine is a perfect accompaniment to the entire meal.

240 – Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore docg Extra Dry
The classic way of drinking Prosecco. With a 14 g/l residual sugar, this wine is particularly suited during an aperitif or after the meal.

Unforgettable and educational experience at Riva Granda: We met Silvia at her winery then followed her onto the slopes her Rive where she has a beautiful tasting room with views of her vineyard and Col. San Martino. We spent the afternoon tasting prosecco as Silvia explained the process of making prosecco from start to finish as well as all of the unique characteristics of the location. Paired with the prosecco were a plate of excellent salami and cheeses that she also makes at her winery. What makes this experience even more special is that Silvia is the owner and chief wine maker and still takes the time to host every tasting. You can also very easily ship bottles home to the US as we did.

We spent an excellent afternoon with the extremely friendly and knowledgeable Silvia in her brand new and cosy tasting hut in the vineyards. Riva Granda has a small but very fine selection of Proseccos. Especially the “Momi” Sui Lieviti / Col Fondo is an absolute must, something very special. Even if you prefer sweeter wines, I recommend you try it at least once. This winery, its wines and the people behind it are a jewel that enriches the entire region. Five stars from the bottom of my heart!

I came to Riva Grande on a small Prosecco tour. What a place! The beautiful surrounds and the passion of the family shows in the quality of the Prosecco in the glass. It’s a family owned place and Sylvia was an exemplary host. She ran the tasting with such grace, giving lots of intriguing information about her winery, the Valdobbiadene region and their DOCG wines. The winery makes a Col Fondo (Sur Lieviti) called Mimi which was a stunning Prosecco made in the ancestral way. Also their modern styles of Prosecco 210 and 240 were both very, very good and oh so easy to enjoy. I was impressed by all!

Fin avril, nous avons eu la chance de faire partie des tous premiers clients (4 adultes et 4 enfants) à tester le tout nouvel espace dégustation situé dans un cadre magnifique au milieu des vignes . Silvia a été une hôte très accueillante.
Elle a su nous faire découvrir sa passion au travers de ses différentes explications données.
Les différents types de prosseco sont excellents tout comme le fromage et les charcuteries proposées pour les accompagner.
Bref un pur moment de plaisir appréciés par les grands comme les petits (sauf le prosseco).
